Green Taiga Sperm Whale in Malaysia.
Adult sperm whales have the biggest brains on earth. Their diet consists of many different creatures but one of their favourites is squid and females can consume up to 700-800 of them daily! They are incredible divers and have been recorded travelling to depths of 3200 feet and can go 90mins between breaths. The waxy substance they produce nearly drove them to extinction during the 18th and early 19th centuries. It was used to fuel lanterns, streetlights, and lighthouses and was in high demand. Sadly, meeting that demand called for the deaths of an estimated 236,000 sperm whales in the 1700s alone.
